Project Team Effectiveness

• Is project delivery a problem for
your company?
• Do project teams take too long
to become productive?
• Are long decision times hampering
progress?
• Are your business and IT teams on the same wavelength?
• Would your technical staff benefit from skill-based interpersonal training?
• How effective are your project teams at providing
decision support to PMs and Sponsors?
Project teams have become the preeminent way progress happens in organizations so their effectiveness is a top business imperative. The standard model of team effectiveness includes four stages of development: forming, storming, norming, and performing. It is only during the fourth stage, performing, that the team finally becomes effective, and some teams never reach this stage. Project teams cannot afford to take three months to perform. In fact, they cannot even afford to take three weeks. And yet, the people on a project team are often more diverse than on regular teams as they can be formed from people throughout your organization, even including external consultants.
If you spend a few days on creating a project charter, or having meetings to determine the specifications of a project so that all team members have a common understanding, doesn’t it make sense to spend a day creating an effective team? We believe that it does, and that is why we have created a course specifically for that purpose. This one day workshop is meant for teams of 15+ people who need to get to the job at hand ASAP.
